follow the safety rules. The only gun I keep loaded at home is my shotgun and I don't keep a round chambered in it, just the magazine full and the slide unlocked and safety off so I need to pump it to arm it.
1. Always treat every gun like it is loaded
2. Never ever point the gun at something you arent willing to destroy
3. never ever touch the trigger unless you intend to fire
4. always know your target and what is beyond it.
