The thing is, even as someone who knows Japanese, Hololive just has so much content in so many different varieties that there's often not really a reason to diversify.
Back in the day, you had Idolbu for idol stuff, niji for a mishmash of everything, but focussed mostly on shitposts, Ai and 4Kings for video content (which were most likely to have subs) and holo as the up-and-coming underdog.
Nowadays, Holo has taken over the idol niche. Niji has lost all touch with it's shitposting roots thanks to older members not really wrangling the livers or the audience to focus on "fun" rather than just hurting others, and newer members apologizing for every little perceived "offence". Things like Gwelu covering Pekora's song would have just been seen as friendly bantz back in the day, but after 3-4 years of nijifans shitting up the entirety of the VTuber sphere, things have gotten quite bad.

One huge difference between this thread and /vyt/ - which is it's predecessor - is that we're no longer on /jp/, so there's little focus on learning Japanese or interacting with the Japanese side of VTubing. And well, it's inevitable because there's so much MORE EN VTubing content now that there was in 2018-19.
Even when EN was at a downturn, people would rather watch small corpo chuubas while waiting for a new gen rather than HoloJP or other JP chuuba content. Even the 2434 thread which used to be the fastest thread back in the /jp/ days only has about 10-12 posters now.

As with everything, I will reiterate that STORY is King.
If you want people to care about non-Holo JP chuubas again, build up stories around them. Underdog inclines, heartwarming stories of growth/friendship, nice clips that have context that people who haven't ever seen these chuubas can understand. This is basically how hololive grew, people just randomly seeing anime girl streamers doing strange and weird things. But now that has become too commonplace, so you'll need something else to stand out, and good stories are one of the easiest ways to hook people.
If there's no EN clips, then post a JP clip + transcript. Remember that none of the anons here know the chuuba, so it shouldn't be some inside joke clip that only their viewers will understand. It has to be easily accessible to a new viewer.

It's a lot of work, and with the existance of EN chuubas, it might even be futile, but if you want these discussions in /here/ and not in /jp/, then you'll need to make people care.

NTA, I wouldn't call it "shit" by any means, it was still very enjoyable.
But there weren't any "exciting" songs or dance numbers that would provoke multiple rewatches like the last one.
At least for me, I rewatch that first one multiple times, mostly for "Gakuen Tengoku" (yakamashi musume dancing was extremely cute, and Lamy's high pitch HEY was the stuff of legends) and "Nantetatte Idol" with Sankisei.
There's perhaps Amagi Goe and Romantic wo Ageru yo but I feel they aren't as rewatchable as the other two.
