They're such fucking idiots. They were so terrified of people shitting on them that they preemptively killed the subreddit without anyone lifting a finger. These things work because people visit them regularly for new 'content'. Interrupting that just gimps yourself while people look elsewhere for their daily fix and break their habit. The reddit served as the 'official' regulated centralized hub of hololive discussion which the normalfags who didn't come to 4ch would use as an easy yardstick for majority opinion when they were too lazy to make up their minds. Now they have no such thing and twitter and fan discords naturally spin towards drama. In fact it looks like they did drive people into /vt/. Before the new year it was a sequence of decaying spikes, but after the lockdown there's a steady rise in activity.
