>What is this and why is there somber music attached?
LN/Anime series, Rokujoma no Shinryakusha. Music is from the Anime adaptation. It's more supposed to be a slow wind down at the end of a day with everyone just hanging out in an apartment, lazily passing the evening as it turns to dusk.

A pretty well done harem series with a refreshingly aware main, and a cast that's often more fleshed out and interesting than this genre has any right to expect of its girls. Expected and unexpected twists- plot points and character growth that don't just exist to serve the main character but end up building believable friendships between the various characters- it's a slow build but a really fun ride. It swerves through a variety of genres too, as it starts out seemingly like a parody-
>A member of the underground empire, a commander of a galactic space empire, a ghost, and a magical girl cosplayer all end up fighting over a super cheap apartment
but there's some serious subversions for the genre, and trying to figure out the overarching plot point as it slowly builds in the background is pretty enjoyable.

It was one of those fan tl'd light novels that would never ever see the light of day of any sort of english release, really niche interest.

But the guy who founded jnovel club, an /a/non to his core, spent years licensing, hiring translators, and tl'ing a bunch of jap WN/LNs digitally until he had the clout, connections, and financial backing to run a kickstarter at pretty much no profit to get a physical version, god bless him.
It's an honest to god miracle of this universe this happened. I've been a fan since 2013, and when the anime failed financially (it's a pretty good adaptation honestly), I lost all hope of ever seeing more fan translations of the series, let alone jnovel hiring the fan translator officially, and then it getting a kickstarted for an offical physical release.

Poco's art is pretty cute too.
