All perms have expiration dates, they just usually renew them. I think Elden Ring perms expired a couple times and Holos had to renew them which is why some playthroughs had long gaps. Also Flare said the perms for the new Pokemon are pretty strict since it's a new Nintendo game and they get pretty picky about that. So it's turning some Holos off on playing it.
Honestly, the whole thing is stupid. They should be able to play any game they want whenever they want, they're advertising the fucking things. If it wasn't for Holos I wouldn't have bought games like Vampire Survivors, Unpacking or got back into games like Rust or Minecraft. They're doing these studios a service but since they want to make a living they see that was cheating. Japan is so far behind on so many things. Why does some ethot on Twitch showing off her tits can play anything but my hardworking Holo has to jump through hoops to maybe play a game for a week.
