I am lurking around, I usually post anonymously. Not so much in the past couple of weeks due to summer vacation, though, only yesterday have I finally caught up on all the threads. I also just woke up today.
If Sol is reading this, I took no real offense from that situation, it's all water under the bridge. This is my brief response to a heartfelt post from about two weeks ago, but I feel it has to be said.

Anyways, I am planning on revising the company Rentry today to reduce some elements that could be circlejerky, specify some elements, and most importantly introduce all the suggestions that Conlanganon has produced. I have been procrastinating wayyy too long on it.

Believe me, it gets better after a while. The best way to teach it is sadly impossible to do online, since it involves cutting away most of the suits/honors and slowly introducing complexity. The thing is, a lot of things in Mahjong make sense once you see the full picture, but at the beginning you're bombarded with a ton of things you're unfamiliar with since you're essentially trying to learn Rummy without being familiar with the concept of a playing card deck.

Paprika is an excellent movie, good choice.
