I think male vtubers could fill a different niche from male Twitch streamers because they aren't expected to act like children. They'd be more like Youtubers in being able to do a wide variety of content rather than having to focus on the 14-24 demographic of Twitch.

Imagine a male scientist vtuber that does spergy lectures about space and physics, or some chuuni detective dude that talks about conspiracy theories and aliens and demons, basically pre-cancer /x/ in chuuba form. Hell even a guy that plays 4X games and is a big history nerd could be really cool. This is all content normal youtubers have been doing for years but Twitch streamers never bother with, and having a virtual avatar can improve the content and make it more palatable to people who otherwise don't watch that type of content.
