This isn't the first time Konami pulled this shit over other companies. They were formerly notorious for almost killing the Korean rhythm gaming scene when they sued Amuseworld for their game EZ2DJ, and actually won it and the latter had to pay damages until they went bankrupt. https://news.mt.co.kr/mtview.php?no=2007070618074158869
Konami might actually have a case here since they actually have the patent for it, but the court of opinion won't take them lightly though since they already have a bad rep amongst the fans for their black company practices towards their employees like Kojima. so even if Konami won their lawsuit, they lost to the eyes of fans.

Koshien numbers will be interesting depending on how this case ultimately ends up.
