The answer to that is simple: They wouldn't be capable of managing it well enough, and because they rely on that network being managed as well as possible, they can't risk shit. Not to mention, if they ever do, their only arm into the greater economy of the world would be compromised, and treated as an enemy nation instead of it's current status as an international corporation.

No, not quite. They are a big part of making that system of nationalism work in the country. The Social Credit system, for instance, is being run through tracking used on Weibo activity. They also run the filters of the Great Firewall for the CCP.
The fact that they do that to the internal nation means that they have the clout to act externally with a freer hand. Because China depends on Tencent to keep their enclosed, autocratic system working, that gives Tencent the leverage to get a better deal.
Think of it like the smuggler in prison. He keeps the system controlled and the prisoners compliant, and in return, he can get favors from the guards and smuggle in outside stuff in a way no one else can.
