Indo is just a nationality. Javanese is a ethnic group. Indonesia contains many different ethnic groups all speaking different languages and having their own cultures. Javanese is the largest one and live on java.

100% of Indonesians that speak english are not even ESL, they are ETL (English third language). No one has Indonesian as a first language because some local language always takes that place (iofis first language is Sundanese, while for Ollie it's Javanese for example, see map). Then they learn Indonesian in school starting with first year in order to speak to other Indonesians not from their own teeny tiny language region. Then they learn English a little bit later in school.

i guess indonesia has a lot of ethnicities separated from each other on islands but ive never met a fair one that didnt turn out to be actually chinese.
