There's too many reasons.
>Played nothing but gacha games for months on end

At worst, a third of NijiEN's own talents are a problem, and they need to be tied to a pole in the yard where management can keep an eye on them. They are responsible for contributing both to a poor fan base, causing a ton of drama, contributing to the appearance of cliques, harming their own reputation both as individuals and their brand, bringing down the mood/morale of the branch, just creating problems that don't need to exist in general.
Obviously management does not help either. But if anything the bad management is an appropriate match made in hell with some of the talents.

That's basically what twists the knife in this situation. It wasn't that long ago when she said she was gaslit by Zaion, there's a huge clip of it too. All of this during what seemed to be a nearly company wide mandate to smear her and ensure the entire NijiEN fanbase becomes radioactive towards her.
Then she basically went and pulled this, and genuinely thought it was great content since she bragged about it in other chats. I don't know why she thought it would be a good idea since all it does is create an environment where chat and fans can't take you at your word anymore. There's good and bad April fools content and this genuinely was the worst attempt in the branch that day, possibly even among EN vtubers.

Besides the fact that even Gura's audience seems fed up by this point and isn't as big as it once was, its still two widely different situations. Finana had quite a bit of lewd ASMRs done by this point, even if it was going to be an April Fools prank the better decision would've been to never planned or mentioned it at all. Maybe just randomly have a stream called it, but the reality is just a rick roll.
