It's about a man that is violent outside but is gentle inside... However both sides can't coexist and they clash often as you can see.
It's a man that is violent and twisted enough to keep you in a cage, not for admiration but to show everyone that he "owns" you. To limit your movement to stay with him always, he always know where are you and what you are doing. This way you can feel how you and him are connected... He needs a lot of courage to do this so you realize how special you are.
Things like cages or prisons show how in his blatant, twisted way he wants to own, protect and love you. You belong to him and in exchange he belongs to you.

He has a soft gentle side that emergences often when he notices you might be distressed this is to show you that he is still human and that despite his way of treating you he still loves you. This side however makes him feel vulnerable and weak, the idea of you being snatched away by a stronger male keeps him in check to not always expose his "weakness".
It's such a simple thing shame you just don't get it Anon.
