In defense of XBC2's gacha system. It's both free and creates a different playthrough for every player since you aren't getting the same blades on the same drivers, leading you to create different compositions for how you tackle battle unless you're a min-max autist who burns through all your overdrives so everyone stays in their original roll.
It's why it's interesting to watch streamers play the game since everyone gets different stuff.
