In my opinion Astel is entertaining no matter what he plays, but the thing about him is despite his love for trolling when he's alone or gets too comfortable he actually mellows out a lot. I'm reminded of what he and Temma said how the stream is the bonus and they just want to play games, and sometimes it really shows with Astel especially since he's an endurance streamer. I can see how people might tune out. It was especially bad with LoL, I couldn't watch any of those streams. At least I think he said he won't play Apex/Valo/LoL solo anymore (but knowing him he probably still will).

At the very least I want his lore to get more attention, it's one of the more unique approaches I've seen a vtuber do with their character and it deserves attention.
