Surprisingly, the EN fanbase has managed to get absorbed into the greater Hololive ecosystem EXTREMELY well.
So much so that they have become staunch homobeggar haters and cute girl lovers, and their complete disinterest in the males shines through with the homo numbers so fucking clearly.
If there's another wave of attacks against Hololive coming from EN side dramatubers, you'd be surprised at how much resistance will be mustered.

It's an interesting thing to think about.
I remember a discussion a while back about how Hololive feels more "anime" than other VTubers, explaining why they're more popular among the weeb crowd.
Fans that came from the anime crowd treat Holos like anime characters, and so they look forward to interactions between different Holos and fantasize about what dynamics they will have (all of which we can watch and enjoy). Heck, there's people that do this even now with Fuwamoco and Miko/Korone, fantasising about how fun their interactions will be.
At the same time, they're also assimilated well enough that they also understand that Holo girls are "people" as well - hence they tend to moderate a lot of the collab fantasies, hide of R18 art under places they can't search, listen to the girls when they tell you to stop doing something, and tend to generally be very considerate about what the GIRLS themselves prefer.
This is the majority of the fanbase - CGDCT fans.

I've always wondered about the psychology of the homobeggar. How do they even get attracted to this hobby? And why they are so persistent with the begging despite several of the girls telling them to fuck off.
I'm gonna put up a bit of a hot take here - homobeggars are also part of the crowd that came from anime fans. But their favorite anime genre is isekai/harems.
You know the types. Popcorn entertainment coomerbait that you watch and forget, more for self inserting yourself into the bland-ass protagonist for 12 episodes and vicariously enjoying harem shenanigans through them.
But unfortunately Hololive's dynamics usually don't really give them any bland protagonist to self insert on to...

^ THIS right here is what I think the entire dynamic of homobeggars comes down to.
This is the reason they don't watch Holostars. Because if you watch them too much and start to know and understand their personality, you can no longer self insert into them.
This is why actual Holostars fans tend to be sane people, and why homobeggars act like absolute monkeys.
They don't see Hololive girls as "people" but just "anime girls" they want to fuck.
This is why the most common homobeggar insult is "she'll never fuck you bro" (because she's fucking that bland guy I self inserted into, therefore ME!) and "fucking incels" (I don't care about the girls' personalities or what they want, I just want to fuck them). The ultimate projection.

Western girls don't understand it, but "anime girls who stream" was the main quality and appeal of VTubers originally.
If you look at HoloJP there are plenty of "anime tropes" that make up the characteristics of the girls and their interactions.
The classic : Boke - Tsukkomi comedy style of manzai, with one girl saying something weird and the other responding to it by calling out the stupidity in some clever way.
There's also a lot of anime tropes in use which will be familiar to anime viewers -
Runnings gags : Aqua's introvertedness, Ayame not streaming much, Shion being a kusogaki, Mio being a mama, Subaru being a duck (and generally being the tsukkomi to many collab groups' boke), Migo being "Elite" in various ways, Haachama's "strongest idol" moments (which she started to stray away from, resulting in her numbers going down), etc. etc.

The JP girls are also easily identifiable via simple character points.
Korone : Cute but scary dog who can beat you up
Lamy : Drunk gf
Aqua : Autistically introverted
Migo : Ultra retarded cute baby
Okayu : Horny Catto
Mio : Mama~
Lui : The Oneesan who has it together
A-chan : The serious uncle who has some weird fetishes
Watame : Fluffy sheep with an ojisan side
Subaru : Tomboy otaku gf
Ayame : Yamato Nadeshiko
etc. etc.

Meanwhile EN has no "characteristic" that define them and not a single one of them have leaned into or created a character for them to "be". And so they seem less like "anime girls who are streaming" and more like "female streamers pretending to be anime girls". There's always this disconnect between them and the audience thanks to them never fully leaning into any "anime" related things, and so naturally there's no appeal to the generally higher number of anime watching folks.
