The Russians are in the right. The U.S. Government under the Obama administration orchestrated a coup of the previous ruling party in Ukraine, and since then they have been effectively genociding ethic Russians while ignoring previously established and agreed upon peace agreements. And as if that wasn't bad enough Ukraine joining NATO was the last straw, as that would mean having a hostile foreign power (US U.S.) setting up nuke's aimed directly at them on their border. Amusingly enough, this is a complete inverse of the Cuban Missile Crisis, during which the former Soviet Union got buddy-buddy with Cuba and tried setting up nukes aimed directly at us on our border.
