Most of the Holo girls don't need to care about numbers anymore, that's why Okayu and Kronii (to give two examples) can play the debuffiest games for their own personal enjoyment without a care in the world if that won't be as hot as playing Vampire Survivors or whatever FOTM.
That fact validates what you are saying: some people put prestige, respect, influence or even self satisfaction ahead of money / ahead of numbers.

My point is that Okayu and Kronii are only free to do so because they are already in a very comfortable position: either could open a stream, play a debuff like Omori (like Okayu) or Hades (like Kronii) for some ungodly amount of tme and get a guaranteed floor of 4000 CCV, 70k Vod views and maintain their 20000 new subs per month pace.
As you say, they could choose even more numbers to try to match the top of the bracket but they don't and my whole point is that

The same choice is *not* available for some indie busting her ass every day for an attempt at 20k subs total and to break into the 3 digits CCV..

tl;dr: you can only stop chasing money when you already have enough to be comfortable. You can only stop chasing numbers if you already have enough to be comfortable
