That's a loaded question. There is no single representation of billions of women.

For the demographics that enjoy vtubers and virtual idols, a sizable portion of them dislike the so-called "twitch thots" and the more vulgar aspects of modern Western urban culture. It doesn't mean they dislike all women on the planets. Step outside America, and when you get to Asian countries, the cultural difference is like day and night. Of course, this may change in the future.

But right now, many men watching vtubers are simply being honest about what kind of women they like. The line is blurred though, and not everyone really hates Western urban culture.

I'm gonna disagree with the reply here a bit. People are right to criticize when the virtual characters do stuff with males on stream. That breaks the immersion, like Calli.

But for BTS stuff? Last year, 4chan goslings were devastated to know someone's BTS details, but that's the fault of their own curiosity, not the voice actor's. Many could and did keep watching, because the anime character is a different entity, who does not break the immersion. But perhaps many learned that, if they wanted to gosling, they'd better pick a vtuber whose BTS details are never known.

Actually try comparing the dislikes she now has to other hololive members. It was shocking for me to find out how bad the problem has gotten for Aqua. Other members almost always have under 1k dislikes. But Aqua dislikes have skyrocketed over the past 2 months. Something stinky is happening and targeted at Aqua instead of just her paranoia.

It is a nature of fandom to be spontaneous and uncontrolled. If you want a censored view of everything, go live in China. I will always prefer there to be more freedom, not less, especially when a hobby is as harmless as this.
