I honestly think that if they had publicly addressed the all out war yab, suspended the talents involved for just 3 days, and nuked that entire "secret discord" server, things would not have been this bad.

It was obviously a yab they "got away" with by hiding and pretending it didn't happen, but it also got them several hundred or even a thousand critical eyes from /here/ on them and their business.
People who watch streams just to find bad shit like Ennaschizo, people who amplify their shitty parts and hide any good parts, people who lurk the NijiEN thread to find shit and post timestamp+transcription here so they can be shit on (and obviously someone always takes it to the catalog to spread it even further), people who actively view them through the glass of "enemy" /here/.

/vt/ is never taken seriously because of all the disparate groups and the infighting, but this moment brought enough people under a common memetic goal of "fuck NijiEN" that it sort of rolled into a snowball effect which is what's currently hitting them.

You could see the exact same effect happening with the attempted dramatuber takedowns and them not announcing anything regarding it and trying to ignore it into not existing, which actually got them the same type of eyes from YOUTUBE as well (their main streaming platform) which just added to this snowball effect.
You could argue that if Nijisanji weren't doing shady shit there would be nothing to attack them for, in that case scroll up and simply read paragraph 1 again and note how they did not do any of that when they could have - which means they would continue not doing it, until the snowball became too big to stop.
