Ok, change is up. You can go to the management page and assign workers from your population to resource nodes.
picrel is the new home page that shows your resource storage now.
Resources will only be "gathered" when the world "tick" happens. This is a script I run manually right now, but I'll set it up to run on set intervals at some point. Probably every 6 hours or something.
