There's a few ways that I draw the line
1. If they intentionally reveal their real body excluding hands.
2. They were formerly a streamer but then tacked on an animated avatar with no effort to brand as a vtuber.
3. They focus on drama or politics too much.
4. They use a PNG rather than a rigged model.

People are giving you a hard time for liking Nux because he appeals to the lowest common denominator, but honestly, a decent amount of people started the same way, getting into vtubers because of hololive/nijisanji/Vshoujo/anitubers and then finding their way /here/ to look for something better.

Little_S is a good suggestion from /here/ if you like that kind of humor. He's a PNGtuber, meaning rather than a fully rigged model he has a series of images he flips through to emote himself, but his humor is in a similar style to Nux, even if he's a little more self aware about it.

If you've never seen ANY other Vtubers and you like Nux's humor, you might unironically like the Vshoujo streamers, even though they get occasionally shit on in this thread for being 90% coomer jokes. There's a dedicated thread for discussion about them.

Lurking will give you good suggestions through osmosis, as you'll be able to see the streamers we discuss and get excited about the most often. Feel free to ask who someone is if you just see images getting passed around, most people are happy to share their oshi/favorites.
