one of the (notoriously) harder dungeon crawlers, inspired from the "wizardry" game. it has cartography as a side feature as well. the lore is also fucking good. if you want to learn the lore and willing to tackle the no qol upgrades from the following games, EO1 and EO2 is good. if you just want lore without getting your ass beat, EOU1 and EOU2 is best.
EO3 is my highly recommended if you don't care about the lore too much but wanna enjoy the game, since EO3 has sailing + where the good QOL upgrade starts and it's lore is separate from EO1 and EO2, it's still relevant but not too much that you miss out on things
