I must disagree with this point. I believe it is a subjective point, it won't apply to everybody. Having a relationship has done wonders for my motivation. I have somebody who I want to look good for so I've resolved to eat healthily and actually leave my house to go to the gym. I also now want to get a job so that I can either provide for or do things with them. A relationship is not about carrying two burdens, but sharing those burdens with each other and working together to better yourselves and remove said burdens. It is a positive feedback loop. The more you improve, the happier you are and the more grateful you are for having each other and then you want to improve even more. I don't think it is right to tell people to shy away from relationships, they can be really helpful for both partners. If you think you can help someone and they can help you, go for it.
Sorry to anybody who I've made feel bad about being single, I'm just trying to say that it's bad to give up on pursuing a romantic relationship. I believe in you anons, if I can do it then you can do it too. I have absolutely no idea how this happened and I'm actually stunned, but now I know it's possible. I put myself out there a little, and if you guys do that too then you might find success. I love you all, good luck.
