Duets are a buff. They also require more work and with someone else. And we're talking about women here so pettiness and jealousy are at play. This cover just happened to have two genmates who get along well, are both incredibly popular relative to other vtubers, and who were able to agree to have the cover on one channel where it sucked in bother their viewerbases and presumably got embedded in the algorithm. Basically the stars aligned for this cover, and the view count shows.

For chubas not on such good terms with each other, Reine and Risu did a good example of how to still pull something like this off with their Kakusei Dualism renditions, even if the metrics aren't great as a result of a variety of debuffing factors such as lower popularity and potentially misleading ID branding.

Maybe someone should fund some research and surveys into why ID gets significantly lower numbers on their covers, especially compared to a cover of a song that is...to be fair, not actually that good. And people have heard it countless times already as the King cover meme has been a thing for a long while.

My own take is that it really is just a matter of algorithm before quality, and that's actually kind of depressing as someone who'd rather have quality. Yeah, the King duet cover will get 13 million views, and Stardust Song is sitting at 1.6 million, but I genuinely think the latter sounds better and has far more effort, soul and production value put into it such that the entire YouTube numbers game only comes off as looking like viewers get shortchanged as a result of creators being incentivized to produce assembly line videos rather than innovating and taking risks.

tldr I'm salty because these numbers are a bitter reminder that my viewing experience will be worsened because YouTube rewards pandering to the Lowest Common Denominator. Makes it really hard to argue with authoritarianism, when the underlying premise of people being tasteless rubes isn't incorrect.

Congrats to Gura and Mori though. You won the algorithm game by making a popular derivative of something that had been done a thousand times already by countless others. The big numbers and big money are worth being proud of from a materialistic perspective, even if critics like myself may be dissatisfied with the current state of content creation in general. With that said, this really does belong in the numberfag general. Trying to smear it in people's faces on the catalog is undignified, and I'm saying this without even caring about other chubas feelings, although I do think it's funny that they're probably seething right now.

I'm just sitting here laughing because you'd think if thots unironically liked Mysta, they'd be content enjoying his streams. Instead, they're still insecure and desperately seek /vt/'s approval by spamming bragposts in a desperate bid to have their tastes validated.

We're the guy they tell male vtubers not to worry about, but I'd just like them to piss off and go watch their fuckboy. I'm only jealous when my GFE collabs with a man on camera, regardless of what she does in her spare time. And if a chuba disrespect me by trying to make me jealous, there's countless others waiting to take her place. Imagine thinking it's possible to win against an ojisan.

Now kindly keep this shit to one bait thread so that better baitposts can propogate the catalog.

>Reimu doesn't care most likely
Already debunked. This keeps her up at night. Especially since she browses the numberfag sites and skims 4chan trying to find inspiration, all without realizing that inspiration, ambition and motivation needs to come from within.

With that said, being a sassy Latina works against her considering the type of western guy who'd watch anime girls for hours on end isn't necessarily the type who'd like to be challenged by a woman.

Not only that, but there's the issue of purpose. What purpose does she have? What niche does she fill? What kind of content will she offer to differentiate herself?

Nijisanji went all in on flooding the market, which may be good for overall market share for the company. But it's not necessarily as great for the streamers because far less thought was put into polishing and marketing them. It's more like "here's your avatar and a gen song, now get out of my house and get a job you bum." It's an incredibly American "white trash" mentality (speaking from experience) that often doesn't work out very well compared to actually nurturing a talent (as you can see with American Asians doing much better than white ME ME MEs).

Best advice I could give is coming up with some sort of content creation related goal related to her passions, hobbies and interests then working towards it. For example, Finana presumably wanted to become a Honkai shill, so she started making a bunch of Honkai content and is now supposedly acknowledged by mihoyo. Having a real, task oriented goal aside from just "I want to be popular, rich and successful" is a great motivator that comes with tangible, built in metrics for progress which boost morale when reached and provide an objective standard for having achieved something.
