To boil it down to its most basic: You need to find ways to occupy your time that aren't the passive consumption of (online) entertainment.
That can be as obvious as going to clubs or as exotic as building a shrimp farm.
Getting a part time job that involves people can also help. Some major introverts I know got out that way. After a while it becomes second nature.

And yeah, the GBF thing happened at the tail end of my tenure on /a/ and was an utter sight to behold.
In a way it predicted a lot of the spicier takes on this board, such as a recent post that stated "90% of humanity is not normal" at the tail end of a protracted rant about male collabs.

The other girl is seen as a place-holder, which makes gachi's schizophrenia act up really bad because it's considered being Single Plus(TM) rather than just single.
