Gabe is the Sodaposter and IRySposter, but not for reasons you may think. His "terminal illness"
is real, but it's actually just severe lung cancer as a result of years of smoking. The reason why he shaved himself was because he had nothing left to lose--he was going to go to chemotherapy for the treatment, so he may as well go bald. This is why he isn't as /here/ often anymore, or at least, not as his "Gabe" identity, because he doesn't want to spend too much of his remaining time left being a schizo. It's why he's friendlier on Twitter, too.
Gabe's identity as the Sodamom is a result of him trying to cope with his mommy-issues and status as a single man looking for a family (ie. infertile). This is also because he is, deep down, a closeted transwoman. As a last resort in order to tie up the remaining strings in his life before he goes, this is the path he chose. Through this, he can find peace within himself (especially after getting to personally meet Kronii in Boston).
As Sodamom, he's able to at least spend the remainder of his time trying to help kronies in the face of the inevitable. Just think about it. It's how he wants to redeem himself, after all.
