This was one of the first videogames I ever played in my life, if I could figure out tank controls when I was 4 then it can't be that bad. Anyone whining about tank controls has to be retarded. Just jump around for like five minutes and you get the hang of it, same as any platformer. Croc is a good game, definitely worth trying for yourself to see how you like it. The level design is great, the music is fantastic, the artstyle looks nice and colorful, and the Gobbos are cute.

I think Croc's cute but he's kind of a kiddie game for Todlers. Lacks that "attitude" that made Sonic and Crash shine. Gameplay is kinda slow too. Saturn was just shit out of luck.

PS1 and Saturn weren't really specifically designed for large/open 3D games to begin with. I think you could reasonably argue that Croc was technically the most impressive game until Spyro and Ape Escape.

A big part of Croc is its charming early visuals. By the time you've 'fixed' the controls, updated the visuals and probably remixed the OST you may as well have just put that effort into a new Croc revival game.
