Gotta go buy one of these bitches but before I do, I’ve watched reviews, did research etc. and there’s apparently mixed opinions about which model is better in terms of performance & longevity. What’s your verdict?

There's no real significant difference. Other than the VA0 revision the boards are very similar in them and in some cases are the same revision but just in a different case with an LED added or missing. It's not like the Genesis where there's wild variation between models. With Saturn there's no real issue with going with one or the other. So just get the one you personally like more.

This. For me it's the white JP Model 2
I think the main failure point on Saturns is the laser and replacement lasers are very cheap and easy to install

Completely your choice on aesthetics
There is no real benefits performance wise
Just make sure you get a model that has your regions power supply

Doesn't really seem to matter, although the VA15 consolidates the SH2s into a single package, everything before that is mostly similar enough. Just pick the one you like the most.

Doesn't matter. But if you're installing a modchip you have to keep your model revision in mind because theres a different 20 vs 21 pin ribbon cable for your disc drive

Model 1 looks sexier and has lights, so I like it more.
