Having played this again recently. I'm not actually sure if it's a good game. Double Dragon holds up a lot better.

A good time. Invest in Acro Circus and Dragon Feet. Also Grand Slam.

It's one of those "Where the fuck do I go?" kind of games

It's mainly good as a kids' game and a messing-around-with-your-buddy game. It has deep flaws. But it's too charming not to be called a good game, I claim.

If you beat up every enemy on every screen, beat up any bosses that show up, and pay attention to what the bosses say after you wreck their shit, you're not going to have any issues.

No, you gotta have power. NINTENDO POWER

>> No.9434042

No, you really don’t. You just need to stunlock every enemy you come across.

Mostly 8-bit ones, it's where the greatness is.
Americans don't like soccer but it's one of the best (and funniest) game in the series.
Other ones that are worth checking out are Kin Medal, Kakutou Densetsu and Hockey.

It's basically a spocon parody with delinquents, they go for a sports competition and break the rules by beating shit out of each other. Tons of features, really funny.

I played the absolute shit out of dodgeball for the NES during the era, it was pretty fun. Crash and the Boys Street Challenge was entertaining with a friend, but AI was stupidly difficult and I only beat it because I farmed coins on the swimming game.

play the pc engine version instead
same great gameplay, much much better graphics and sound

>> No.9435709

>>9433903
yeah, most of them are good
some of them have good 16-bit versions

river city ransom, kunio soccer, super dodgeball and field day all have pc engine ports.
kunio soccer is decent on pce but has a better version on the megadrive.

Don't be disingenuous. Even for someone who has played before it can take more then an hour. As it is his first time playing he will no doubt take longer than an hour to finish it.

Don't blame RCR for your unquenchable male thirst. There's nothing wrong with being gay as long as you're not an attention seeking tranny or some mincing fag playing a part, but NES didn't do it to you.

>> No.9436001

>>9435960
I'm not! there aren't a lot of things you need to hit to get to the end of the game, so even if you end up ragequitting and coming back later, you'll be able to quickly make up time.

I don't find it too different than something like Castlevania or Ninja gaiden where you just come back and try again later, no passwords needed.

>> No.9436102

nah i don't blame the nes, but it probably informed me of the shower spycam fetish i had all through my teens and early 20s
although they were really only supposed candids or spy pictures back when i was a teen, man kids got it great with how easy it is to get wank material nowadays

the only real mystery in the game is back tracking for the red shirts. I wanna say Thor and Blade in specific were ones i forgot

Shit, I didn't know English when I first played this game, so I was completely lost when I got to River City and couldn't get inside the school.
