It was a big fad in media in the late 80s/early 90s, with movies and tv shows and video games and cartoons and stuf all doing wacky stone-age things for a while.
It's probably like the silver age comic fad for gorilla characters, somebody at DC realized that comics with a gorilla on the cover sold much better than ones without, and for a while gorillas were everywhere in DC. Marvel jumped on board a bit later and less enthusiastically, but missed the boat on most of that fad.

Dinos aren't popular anymore? How come?
I'm from 1985 so I think I got just in time for all the dinokino that happened in the early 90s.
I was obsessed as a kid, still have all the books and even some toys. I sold all of my dino toys except for the Jurassic Park ones because they're too awesome (and I think expensive, toy collectors are after them).
Years ago my dad was selling old stuff and he put up my generic (but great) dinosaur toys for sale and some woman bought them for her daughter. I remember feeling kinda nostalgic seeing all these guys I played countless hours with part... but at the same time I was happy to know some kid will be enjoying them again, here they were stored in a box.

1 is essentially a troll game. It becomes an absolute filter at later stages so one thing you should absolutely know about is that there's an endless continue item hidden at the end of stage 1-1. Even with that, you're going to have a hard time.

2 and 3 are just regular platformers, they are somewhat difficult but not even close to the difficulty of the first game. Hardest level in 2 is final one where time limit is super strict, and in 3 it's, dunno, some bullshit alternate routes and icy levels.

We know T-Rex was primarily scaly, if not exclusively scaly. We have fossilized impressions of those bare scales. At least most of its body would have been like that. This is the most accurate and up-to-date take on them. If this had been clear back when the featherfaggotry got started, I don't think it would have irreparably damaged them for kids. There's nothing wrong with feathered raptors, archaeopteryx, etc. They should have just had the sense to leave the king alone.
