Does anyone know how to remove this outlined plastic part from a SNES motherboard. I pulled on it and now it's caught at an angle. I get the feeling I have to desolder something.

I have 2 gameboys that don't power on and a DS hinge that needs to be fixed.
Already tried cleaning the gameboys, there wasn't any visible corrosion anywhere and I tried cleaning the power switch, still don't work. So I guess now I'm ordering a multimeter to test stuff? Man idk. I'm a retard, I just want my old gameboys to work. I don't really care much about the DS hinge since I have other ones and that one I just happened to pick up for cheap, but might as well try right?

Yes 100% a multimeter is what you need! Not powering on likely just means connection issues somewhere. Make sure you've got some tweezers or something to scrape PCB masking with. To check tracks.

Nice, certainly is. No loud disk drives, or disk rot. Bonus points if you purchase a system with an already malfunctioning disk drive for cheap!

As I said before, I'm a retard. I don't know what the fuck you just said.

That's ok, if you want me to take a look, just post some well lit pictures of the motherboard, and I'll let you know if anything stands out.

I appreciate that. I have everything kind of put back together so I don't lose any itty bitty screws right now though.
Here's one of them though, now that I'm "really" looking at it I didn't notice those areas on the copper before. But then again, I don't know wtf I'm looking at.
The other one is a GBA which actually is in a little worse condition I think.

I'm trying to figure out how to replace the back light of an old laptop. Do I hunt down the correct florescent tube or do I try to use an LED? Is it even possible to use an LED like with the gamegear?

Is Famicom World literally the only place that documents all the FDS disk errors? You'd think someone woukd have translated the actual Japanese service manual by now since they're apparently so finicky.

I doubt it. Whatever list you think is complete probably isn't.
