I don't understand these games. There's no real driving mechanics to master like in Daytona. Getting in first is determined by not running into another car. Am I missing something here or is this all the game is?

Honestly it just feels too archaic. It has all the issues of daytona usa saturn (20 fps, pop in, etc.) But it's such an unfun game. It also runs much worse. In daytona driving the car is still fun, in this it's like there's no friction or control, like every track is a straight line. Reminds me of pole position on the atari 2600. It's about as deep.
