Nearly finished a replay of this. Still good but thank god for save states (fuck you spheda!) and turbo speed to get past all that time wasting.

You can stop playing, you may "finish" it but you'll never beat it.

I beat it on my PS2 15 years ago faggot, hence my calling it a "replay". There's no fucking way I'm putting 160 hours into it again this time around, hence the save states and fast forward.

Just watch a youtube if your time is so precious you can't even be arsed to actually play a game.

I beat it too and it's one of the games I'd never ever want to go back to. It's such a fucking schlog. Why are you replaying it?

Bitch I have got a gargantuan backlog of games I need to get back to that I put on hold so I could indulge my nostalgia. So yes my time is precious, I got Ni No Kuni to play next.

The last game I played with my best friend. I could never bring myself to play it again.

Didn’t even bother with Spheda. This game was great but goddamn did they just toss a bunch of random shit in it.

>> No.8312979

Spheda is a neat idea, but poorly executed. The stage layouts are horrible for it.

Spheda was okay. A nice fun timewaster, but you wanna know what was truly poorly executed and could have been godly?

Monster transformations
And the stupid amount of grinding to level them up

I consider Dark Cloud 2 to be in my top 3 favorite games. I love that game so much.

>>8313046
Monster transformations were useless. Inventing was a neat but ended up being underutilized. Spheda was a time sink, but not bad. However fishing, fish racing, and fish breeding became an addiction to me.

I fucking love Spheda, but the game teaches you jack SHIT on the trick shot mechanic. Not to mention having to clear out the entire room again if you fail (FUCK the Sewers), so I don't blame OP for using save states. Funny how the game is so tutorial heavy compared to DC1 yet the devs didn't bother with the bullshit, sometimes hilarious RNG golf mini-game.

My mom got me Dark Cloud 2 because I loved 1 so much and when i realized it was only a couple characters instead of a big fun cast you could swap through i stopped playing.

>> No.8314083

I gave Dark Cloud II a shot many years ago and I remember that I found it quite fun and interesting.

I think I played about 7 or 8 hours of it then had to return the game, I planned on buying it but ended up forgetting about it completely after a few weeks.

The volcano levels are pretty shitty too. There is no reason to have bottomless pits along the walls that always swallow the ball. At least the sewers had a chance to bounce out of a gutter.

Who can forget the wonderful mechanic this game has where instead of letting your characters simply level up to improve their HP and defense the game instead hides the stat increases inside minuscule little chests that are hidden in corners and hard to see places all over the huge sprawling future areas.

I sure loved periodically spending hours running all over these areas while tapping X hoping to run into one because I couldn't fucking see them at all on my old CRT unless I was right next to one causing a red exclamation mark to appear.

Really, that was just great. Thank you Level 5!
