Let my nephew and nieces play with me once in a while. I share a lot of what I play online and I'm active in a few circles. Closer friends watch me stream to them and share a lot of excitement I have over old games.

Wasn't always alone. Best friend went to jail, a few died, and the last remaining moved. Now I'm alone though.

I used to play with friends when it wasn't that retro ,but they eventualy moved onto xbox live and i remained in the past ,I don't have any friends that like old games anymore.

I just want to play some mario kart 64 with the bros but those days are gone ,like tears in rain

how do you deal with playing anything with others.

solo old school player for life.

If you want social gaming play modern trash.
Who the fuck wants to watch someone else play a retro game? Stop being so needy. No one cares that you can beat goldeneye a second better than the speed record.

Enjoy your gaming and have fun. If you NEED some company with you. Than you clearly don't need retro gaming.

I mostly play single player retro games so it isn't a huge deal. I have one friend that is really into them and another friend that isn't as into them, but I always have a good time with them regardless of whether or not there was couch multiplayer happening that evening. The game always takes a backseat to just talking to the person I'm hanging out with anyways.

Played em with friends when they were new and still live 10min away from one of them who comes over weekly.

I genuinely have NO ONE to discuss video games with. That's why I'm stuck on this board

this. modern gaming went to shit because these drones came in bringing their "friends" and social parasites with them. gaming was always a pure single player ALONE experience - we went away from you but you had to follow us and destroy another thing were we weren't pestered by you and your shit society. yiff in hell faggots.

Seems like you and your pals are having a blast with the drug trafficking business, anon. Don't you feel bored by videogames?

I have 1 online friend I talk about retro games with. Very fun. It's fun to talk about what you like about stuff compared to here where people mostly only reply to put eachother down :p besides that I can only really play super old stuff on a handheld or when no ones home. It's kind of a dick move to hog the tv for mappy when no one wants to watch that, filling the house with beeps and boops

There's nothing wrong with playing alone. Unless you're playing a fighting game, being alone may be the best way to appreciate a lot of retro vidya. I think retro vidya is one of those interests that attracts people who make it their entire lives. If you're fortunate, you'll eventually find somebody who also likes retro vidya and is fun without constantly discussing or playing vidya.

Yeah, let's keep in contact with each other.

>> No.8291868

I don't need other people to play single player games. If I want to talk about them I can use this site later.

I'm perfectly fine with it.
Although I also miss the couch co-op I've had back in the NES days. Just playing, chatting, having fun together. Then you lose your last life and is left to watch your friend playing. Then you press A on your joypad and steal an extra life from him. He dies in the game, you die too, because he kicks your ass.
Good old days.

I have a few pals into retro games I talk to online, also my boss is into retro games, it's pretty sweet to be able to talk to someone about stuff like Doom maps and mods, or that new sourceport for Diablo.
