At what point did you fall in love with this game? It would have to be the dog scene for me.

>Fuck Capcom this is not Mega Man
>Maybe this can sort of be interpreted as Mega Man
>Nope, that wasn't Mega Man
>Eh, I guess it doesn't matter it's not Mega Man
The traditional MML exposure cycle follows the traditional 5 stages of grief. With the optional 6th stage of actually enjoying the final game if it floats your scavenging airship

The normal MML exposure experience follows the classic 5 stages of grief

Around the time where the world opens up and basically tells you to go exploring. So more or less after the Town Hall scene. It felt very segmented and hand holdy at that point, but once it opened up and let me really go where I wanted, I really started to have fun

>> No.8263039

I stopped playing when it gave me like 3 boss fights in a row at a moment I really just wanted to go explore underground. Wouldn't let me. Wanted me to do some stupid bullshit instead and it couldn't be satisfied making me do one mission, but three in a row. With such terrible controls you're basically begging me to turn the game off and never play again, which I did.

Of course it is. But MML has literally just a handful of incidental references to Mega Man (one of them being the title), and it's 100% unrelated gameplay-wise.

I think I immediately fucking loved it. The anime style, the expressive characters and voice overs. His interactions with the world were also great, like being intimidated by complicated looking books in the flutter or the library and wanting to check out porno mags at the news stand but being wary of getting caught. As far as shonens go, this shit was like nothing I’d ever seen before— being 8 years old and playing a game where you are quite literally a young, heroic lad was incredible.

Replaying these games invokes a sense of long-lost innocence. It’s delightful.

Such fond memories renting it on the N64 and enjoying it. Played through it a few times on an emulator and recently beat it again. Holy fuck Juno was a ballbuster.

Started 2 but giving that a rest after the frog boss fight annoyed the shit out of me with the invincible tadpoles stun locking you if you ended up in the middle of the arena. Still beat it first try, but put it down after getting stunnlocked to death while escorting the little tribal island twins.

My main issue is I think I fucked up somewhere because using the analog stick to move has these weird semi-deadzones in the corners so going from up/down to left/right causes you to walk for a split second and I can't really use the D-Pad since I broke my thumb earlier this year and it still feels weird pushing with it, sticks feel okay though.
