Holy shit I COMPLETELY FORGOT I had a Sega Saturn! I asked for this back in the late 90s, but since finding games for it was hard, I forgot about it and kept playing PC, N64 and PS1 instead.
I haven't seen this since 1998 or so.
I hooked it up and it still works, except for the internal battery.
I only have a demo disc for Nights and a couple shitty games (some football one and Sonic R), honestly I've been replaying the Nights demo on repeat, scoring in this game is fun and the nostalgia it gives me is strong. I only played it briefly back then, but it's all coming back, this game is magical. I need to get the full game.
Anyway, Saturn thread. Share memories, stories, and talk games. I'm starting from scratch with this console and am already very excited, already ordered Virtua Fighter 2 and Fighters Megamix off ebay.

I love the console, sega rally is one of my favorites and is always a good time for a quick session. When I'm playing it, I'm usually playing imports like Elevator Action Returns.

I'm in love with the Saturn right now. I got a JP one hooked up to an OSSC and it looks great. I'm working my way through the big adventure games for the console - playing Sakura Wars 2 right now - but looking for some more action games to fill the gaps as I work through those.

I grabbed Sonic Jam, and Sonic World was a trip, if disappointing at the time. The differences in the old games on this collection are really weird and fun to notice. Also, of course, has the superior JP version of Sonic 1 with the improved scrolling, which is nice. Also been playing Dead or Alive, which is quite different from the Playstation version, and it's reminding me how much I used to tilt at these games. Probably gonna grab Burning Rangers soon because I just A-ranked Nights. I have a list a mile long of games I want for this thing.

ukanon here. I purchased a Saturn from GameStation back in 2007 for about £30. Never did anything with it as the games were so expensive and damn PAL.

Was going to sell it a few years ago but saw the video about the video card slot being hacked. Bought a Satiator ealier this month. Really pleased with it, everything works great apart from Marvel V Street fighter. 60hz modded my console too.

Its a decent console but its a shame the hardware was wasted because of how hard it was to code for. Glad I had a PS1 in the 90s.

Essentially, a non-linear, exploration-based 2D platformer. Games like Jet Set Willy (which did it years before Metroid) and Vampire Killer for the MSX2.

Also, Super Tempo has a level or two that you have to do some exploring in, iirc.

If it's the black sega saturn then get rid of it because its shit.
Sell it, trade it, whatever.

Get a white superior japanese sega saturn (or grey) with a step down converter.

Get games like x men vs street fighter, darkstalkers 3, king of fighters and a ton more.

Stolar got the last laugh in the end. His system was used as the basis for the hugely popular Naomi/Atomiswave arcade hardware which received games throughout the '00s.

Saturn/ST-V? It died only after a few short years of living out its worthless, shameful existence before fading away into obscurity.
