FFX is by far my favorite game out of the series. I've never been a huge fan of the futuristic aesthetic presented in some of the other games, and X had a perfect balance between fantasy and machine.

Yes, because it taught the devs the wrong lessons with its underperformance, not because the plot was sissy. They will never make a game with as good gameplay systems as this, because they think that doesn't sell anymore as a direct result of X-2.

He should have been forgiven for Spirits Within's failure, would've been better long term for the company's image

X-2 is one of the worst sequels to a video game ever fucking made. It has an unbelievably stupid and useless "story" and a fifth of the scope of X. It was primarily made for mid-00's Japanese coomers and incels.

X on the other hand is one of the finest, if not the finest, JRPG's ever made, with an incredible story, characters,gameplay mechanics and a world so unique and well defined you wish you could jump in and explore it. The art direction in that game is so unbelievably deft that it will remain timeless.
