Old /vr/ has a hateboner for the gba because they wasted all their time trying to get the best quality out of their consoles which the gba just does by turning on. You can feel their anger when they start talking about how the gba is full of NES and SNES ports and remakes. Though I bought a vita and holy shit the screen is better than my old PSP 1000. I used to think the games were all blurry because it was the 2000s and developers with two braincells threw motion blur at everything but it turned out that the screen was really just that shit at ghosting.
Shame since the 1000 is the only one that's still cheap.

oled is actually terrible choice for retro for 2 reasons. 1 is oled terrible for anything with vibrant and bright colors because it will drain your battery more than usual, so forget nintendo consoles. 2 is that this model had terrible burn ins from oled screen where the cut off from 4:3 to black bars happens. and considering all retro games run like it (unless you stretch), it's nasty

Infinity should only be used if you have model that isn't compatible with permanent CFW. If you do have a model thats compatible with permanent CFW, then 6.61 ME or 6.61 PRO are usually better options.

It's horrendous for that. It was a "better than nothing" option a decade ago. Most 4th gen and above consoles except for the natively supported PSX require frameskipping on it. I'm really not sure why nobody can just move on from this last-choice emulation handheld, it's old enough that it's now becoming a *more* expensive option than others.

i mean admittedly emulation did get better in last decade for both snes and gba. gba 3d games actually playable now. mode 7 games still wonky though. but even then i'd use frameskipping, but in combination of downclocking cpu for bigger battery life. i think it goes really well with battery mods too if anyone willing to go through with it, it gonna last over 10 hours, way more than any chink handhelds or even vita
