I only come here from time to time to shit on /v/ zoomies now that's all that remains, but fellow /vr/ veterans who are still here, what "old /vr/" like alternatives do you use?

zoomers live rent free in your head huh. /vr/ has always been kind of stale, even before 6th gen was allowed, this board was trash.

You're what's wrong with this board

I found one, but I don't want retards like you there.

Yeah, all those recommendation begging threads and meme spam threads are high quality, too bad we lost one of them for this thread.

you can leave now, tourist.

Threads come and go, it's the quality of the posting within that is lost forever

Nah, /vr/ was the best board on 4chan before it became /v/ 2.0, even if it was kind of stale.

You can get better discussions of retro games on /v/ than on /vr/

Good luck trying to talk about anything that isn't Mario or Zelda

>> No.7500449

>>7500442
There's only so many good retro games to talk about realistically. It's alway just been the same games getting discussed and people showing off their crts and shit.

That's this board you idiot

So you're telling me that if I went to /v/ right now and made a thread about pitfall 2, it would fill up with tons of thoughtful replies by 30+ year olds instead of larping zoomers?

are feeling OK?

>implying OP will leave
Who are you trying to fool? There was another /vr/, barely anyone went, the few that did complained it was too slow due to a lack of people and came back here. Happened again right after the rule change. It's beyond dead now. If people were going to leave /vr/, they would have done it already. No one will since no one is willing to leave the group and be in a smaller group.

Quit pretending you are willing to go hang out on a dead board waiting for others to follow. If you were willing to do it, you would have done it already.

You won't find anything like that outside of like a specific fan forum.

Veteran retro gamer here. We've migrated to r/retrogaming. We welcome younger retro gamers too so don't be afraid to join!

>> No.7500540

>>7500457
Yeah you will as long as you make a thread properly and don't just post a picture of Pitfall with the text "thoughts?", "Pitfall thread", "anybody like pitfall?" or something like that.

>> No.7500558

>>7500540
I don't understand what these people want. They have nothing to say, nothing to talk about, but they expect a bunch of replies and apparently act like the board is doomed when they don't get them.

>> No.7500574

>>7500558
They want a conversation to entertain them without having to be a part of the conversation. Just post topic and wait for replies. "I'm bored, amuse me" in post form.

Being honest, a properly moderated subreddit is really nice, I browse /r/fpgagaming to follow the development on arcade cores like the CPS2 FPGA implementation. But every retro gaming sub is devolved into "hey look what I bought even though no one fucking cares". Actually, that's basically every hobby sub on reddit in a nutshell. So fucking bad, you need heavy moderation because the upvote system encourages the shittiest of posting trends.

I.e. the average users of reddit are moronic... Nothing new

anybody else remember this hidden gem?
>pic of Pokemon Red

also r/gameboy is literally just everyone hacking their game boys and NDS's apart
