Lemme think of some worse companies:
early TOSE
early Sunsoft
Beam Software
Radical Entertainment
Imagineering Inc.
Acclaim

Beam Software
Bits Studios
Color Dreams
Gray Matter
Imagineering
Manley & Associates
Micronics
Radiance Software
Radical Entertainment
Realtime Associates

>> No.7426762

Hell no. The actual answer is Micronics. LJN isn't even a developer, so claiming it's them doesn't make a lot of sense. Micronics practically had a PhD in shitty game development. I am hesitant to believe any of them were paid and instead have to conclude every release was literally a shitpost for the (you)s

>> No.7426765

>>7425801
Several Atari era companies were probably the worst ever.
You could also argue certain bootleg companies are among the worst, and the early Japanese glut of shitty companies that had never made games before all trying their hand at success on the Famicom was a really bad time as well.

I'm not the guy you are arguing with, but AVGN was like 6 years old when the NES launched in the west. He played few if any of these games when they were new or relevant as he was simply too young. We are not parroting AVGNs opinions, he was copying ours (oldfags).

The LJN hate is far, far older than YouTube for anyone who was an actual gamer in the 80s. Their disastrous uncanny X-men game is by far the single lowest point for me as a gamer, not because it was uniquely shit, but becaus I also read X-men off the newsstand since around 1981. LJN took what you loved and destroyed it. I was there for Atari ET and to me X-men for NES surpassed it as I had higher expectations for games by 1989. It is different when you are seeing ads for a game months in advance to build that anticipation. It is a whole other experience playing a famous lemon 10 years later with nothing but a bad reputation as your lone reason to try it.

Now to be fair, LJN didnt actually make these games, they had them made. They deserve all the hate they got as we were leery of them even as just an overnight rental.
