The Dreamcast has always been noisy. That was one of the biggest complaints, even at launch.

in Sonic Racing Transformed, the Dreamcast controller's sounds when it gets hit or fails a trick are just the grinding sounds. That's how famously shitty the Dreamcast loading is.

I had the Sports edition when I was a kid and it was pretty quiet. Later in life when I bought one of the white ones I genuinely thought there was something wrong with it.

Sega also made special menu themes for Nintendo 3DS dedicated to their old systems. Dreamcast theme blasts you with disc drive noises whenever you open your 3DS.

>DC IS NOISY
>put lithium grease on it, that makes it much quieter, it doesn't sound like a grinder anymore
>BUT IT'S ALWAYS BEEN LIKE THAT

The motor is going crazy because you forgot to add a dummy file to the full the empty space on your "back up" discs.
