If it weren't for the failure of that fuckin piece of Shiturn it could've lived a full, long life.

Press S to spit on the Shiturn's grave.

Shenmue killed the Dreamcast and Sega

>> No.7362548

The controller killed the system, only one stick after teh dual shock was a mistake plus it's so cheap and garbage that you would think it was a third party controller.

How do you figure that?

Dreamcast Quake 3 played and controlled fine with one analog stick. Analog movement isn't even used with mouse and keyboard.

It's sad.
So much soul in the Dreamcast, has that same neat innovative gimmicky feel that Nintendo also has. I want a Dreamcast 2 but Sega is more than dead at this point.

You needed a second stick for the movement.

You can move with A,B,X,Y like W,A,S,D buttons on keyboard, it's same thing.

This, the PS2 felt stale and regressive in comparison (same games than PS1 with better graphics, only 2 controllers, inferior graphic quality compared to DC, etc.).

So they just sold a game where you were unable to move?

They spent 3 years and $70 million to make this unprofitable game. That's money they could have spent on several profitable games instead.

That $70 million went into other projects as well.

Didn't work as well on the DC as it did on the N64 controller, never liked it.

A lot has been said about Shenmue's budget.

At first it was, $ 70million for Shenmue alone.
And lately it's $ 48million for:
-Project Berkley (Shenmue Saturn)
-Shenmue DC.
-Shenmue 2 DC.

I'm still pissed that 99% of peoples thoughts on Sonic Adventure stem from this below average port.

50 mil~ across 5 years of development and two finished games isn't bad, especially considering the scale of Shenmue
The people in charge of hardware at Sega did the company in by releasing too many peripherals, letting the Saturn die and then gimping the Dreamcast with GD roms. If the Dreamcast had a DVD player I'm sure it would've had far greater support and Microsoft may have never released the Xbox

>> No.7363974

If it weren't for the resources wasted on development of the 32X, the Saturn could have been good.

Does it matter in the end? In 30 years you've forgotten 95% of the games anyways-

I blame it on poorfags who pirated the games.
