Why do so many people have a problem with this? I like villains who just don't have a reason, like The Warriors at the end asking why he keeps messing with them: "no reason", that made it all the cooler.

It's lame when you want everyone to have some sob story that made them overreact and want to be world dominators because people were mean to them as a child. Those are fine too, but so are the bad guys just because they're bad. Which does exist btw.

i think he was a cool villain because of the stakes, he was a bumbling idiot starting out and ended up as a fucking god that actually did destroy the world. That was mostly the appeal
