I like it. Still. Admittedly less than I did when I was a kid. Co-op action rpgs have always been rare and that's probably the main reason it's been so timeless.

It's not bad, but the previous and next game in the trilogy are way better. It's difficult to get into SOM if you've played TOM.
Anyway, as far as a-rpgs go, there are better options. Terranigma for instance.

The combat in FFA is actually better, your hits actually land all the time and you can't just spam magic in the same way as in this game. Plus magic actually has more puzzle-solving capabilities in FFA rather than using analyse + a certain mana spirit's magic to open doors and shit, like how you need to freeze an enemy in a very specific way in the mana palace.

I played this game and hated it, then Itried SD3 and loved it, then I tried this game again a couple of years later and still hated it, afterwards I tried Secret of Evermore and loved it. I really just hate this game in particular for whatever reason.

It{s a good game with some flaws like the Ai getting stuck all the time the last upgrade for the weapons been useless, enemies been able to dodge and give you no indication that they did, one boss is only week to light magic that only one character can use and the final boss been week to the mana sword that at that point only the MC can use while the other caracters need to use the same magic over and over again.
