Duck Hunt. I was probably 5 or 6 and my mom had taken me along to visit a friend of the family. Her twin daughters had an NES that was connected to a computer monitor, and on it was Duck Hunt. I can’t for the life of me remember if it was one of the girls or their brother that was playing it, but for a brief minute I got to hold the Zapper and fire at the screen. Even though I already a vague understanding of what video games were, nothing could have mesmerized me more than watching that cartoon dog leap into the bushes and hearing the gloriously beepy boopy jingle that played after you shot a duck.

I wish everybody could experience what playing NES was like for a kid in the late 80s and early 90s. That magical first experience is what cemented me as a lifelong Nintendo fan.

Hmm. Either Donkey Kong on the Colecovision, Jet Boot Jack on the Atari 800, a Frogger handheld, a Firefox F-7 tabletop, or a Nintendo Color TV-Game Pong clone. I think it MIGHT have been the Pong clone.
