Yea I loved it too, kinda wish Team Rose either had missions like Chaotix, or was just absent from the game.
replaying the same levels over again with identical playing characters was a bit of a chore no matter how much fun it is to play, and the overall asethetic being so upbeat and streamlined
I will always like Adventure 1 the most because I am a sucker for hub worlds, but I will always cherish Heroes as well, so far it seems to be better than what I have experienced of Adventure 2 Battle

I played it and didnt think it was really good. Should i still try Adventure 1 and 2. Im a huge sonic 1 2 cd 3&k fan. But this game felt glitchy and repetitive. Idk maybe its just me.

I never had a problem with the Chaotix. A good portion of them are just playing through the same levels I already like with a small stipulation or a thing to pick up, with the biggest exception being Mystic Mansion, but the levels are still generally fun to play through. Team Rose could've been cut and I would not have missed them at all. The stages are way too short and easy, and their Rocket Accel is terrible, which isn't helped by how much slower Amy is in comparison to the other speed characters, which makes it feel like a complete slog and a waste of time.

I think Heroes is kind of... bad, casually, but I'm actually having fun trying to A-Rank everything that isn't a casino level. I recommend giving A-ranks a go if you ever get the itch to play Sonic Heroes again.

levels that vary a bit between the teams, not only do they play different levels with the ocasional facing off each other in a same one, but a mission based level here and there too like 'ole Chaotix

an additional multiplayer mode to fight one another like virtua fighter or something, and maybe even some sonic R inspired races to boot

Adventure has the most soul. Adventure 2 is the best in terms of story and gameplay. Heroes is a weird mix of garbage and fun. I still replay it now and then.
