I used to be really bad when it came to all of that stuff. Like I needed the original box and manual for every game I bought, every single game.
I think when I threw all my games in folders/storage, and kept all the boxes in containers (and became a alcoholic who stopped playing games for 2 years) is when that autistic tinge finally broke.

Dont get the autism for SNES boxes. They are cool but it's just cardboard, really easy to break. If you actually use it for its purpose (storing the game) it'll just get worn out.

I wish my parents hadn't thrown mine away after I told them not too, but only because of the money I could have had from people like this.

I cant even find a copy for 50 USD any more. My only thing with these prices is that the condition has to match the price. I've seen tards selling copies that look like they were found in a trash bin for top dollar.

>> No.6364618

>>6363527
Because some moron probably paid that once, and now the price is insane.

It's like buying JP games from US sellers. They mark it up to US prices (or higher) when some jap will sell you the same exact thing, in better condition, for a few dollars. Like I've seen listings of a US copy of Brave Fencer Musashi, cib for over $100. JP copies range from $10-$30. But buy a JP copy from a US seller, and it'll be listed for $80 a lot of times. But I've seen them as high as $120.

Or how you can find 50 copies of extremely common games new in box, and half of them are listed for $100 or more. Meanwhile, the average easonable price is something like $30.

Or the occasional listing of something like FFVII new in box for $5,000. They justify it by claiming "original release" or "first pressing" as if an serial number alone justifies thousands of dollars worth of mark up on the most common game in existence.

It's all bullshit. American sellers are worse than scalpers and basically rob people who don't know any better.

>> No.6364626

>>6364572
You never will either. Best to cut your hypothetical losses, grab a halfway decent deal while you still can and forget about it. For games where the language barrier isnt a problem, I'm just importing now. I'm even considering importing games where language is an issue, just to be able to have them for a reasonable price.

>> No.6364648

you know what they say, something is worth exactly what someone is willing to pay for it
showing unsold ebay listings says nothing, you can list ff7 for 5,000 any time you want, it doesn't mean anyone will actually pay 5,000 for it. if nobody buys it, it's not worth that much, by definition

This is literally the peak of autism. It completely defeats the purpose of a videogame, how fuckin mentally challenged do you need to be to lock a videogame, any videogame inside a plastic shell and sell them for ludicrous prices when you can get a sealed or mint copy for just a fraction of the price? This literally pisses me off. Just when I thought collectors and hoarderfags couldn't get even more retards they come up with this dumb shit.
Fuck whoever came up with this stupid shit and fuck whoever did this. Even if it was a shit game or a sports game nobody gives a crap, this is the stupidest, retarded and fucking ridiculous shit you can do to a fucking videogame.
I hope you all die in a fire among your collection of useless plastic, microchips, and optical media you fucking waste of semen
