Do you think they got better or worse as technology evolved? Were sports games from the early days better or worse than those from the later retro days?

At this time I am thinking Tecmo Super Bowl, it's addictive fun.

Racing games definitely got better with technology. I think sports games were equally able to be great and awful through the times.

Never been into sports and even I never thought I would get an old sports game of all fucking things, but I always remembered enjoying a hot shots 1 demo on a ps1 demo disc.
When filling out my ps1/2 collection last year I got this wild hair up my ass to get one of them, so I got hot shots golf four.

Still waiting for nintendo to fill in this void on the switch.

Does NFL pull the same thing as FIFA?

I remember how as a kid I used to think it was kind of dumb to pay $60 for a FIFA game and it price dropping to less than half that in a few months. Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined the insanity of FIFA loot boxes today.
