I'm going to buy a dreamcast for my brother for Christmas. Would house of the dead 2 work well with a light gun or would I have to buy him an sdtv too?

HOTD2 has a superior PC port. Get him some weird fun DC games instead like Blue Stinger, Tech Romancer, Marvel vs Capcom 2 and Jet Set Radio.

If it's just for that game, go with the Wii version instead. Lightguns have issues with non crt displays from what I remember, but I don't know. A more informed anon may provide you with better information than I have.

and I don't think either have them have the same blood spurts of the arcade. minor detail though.
