I really wanted this B&O Beomaster that combined that Beogram and Beocenter my dad had when I was growing up but it was so frustrating trying to refurbish the only one I could find that I tossed it and got a class D amp to plug into my Airport Express.

Look senpai-icom, I dig you're dedication to posting this same thread every week but at least post your actual setup instead of a generic google image.

Are you suggesting sound quality is irrelevant because there’s only two channels? Kill yourself retard

Who the actual fuck uses the built in speakers in a pro monitor. They're not meant to have great audio, they're meant to mount on a rack and provide visual clarity.
You'd have to be some kind of retard to expect– oh that's right, I'm on 4chan.

PVM speakers are legit garbage though, it's no the mono vs. stereo thing that kills them.

Most people shitting on CRTs, gaming setups, people with original hardware, etc are almost assuredly college age zoomers who play everything via emulators on their laptop. So, his setup is probably a laptop with an LCD monitor, with audio output through the built-in speakers.

I doubt many people use PVM's built-in mono speakers. All the setups I've seen with them have external speakers. The few images I've seen of PVMs without accompanying speakers have been in storage scenarios, or something like a desk setup where the person is clearly using headphones instead.

I'm not calling stereo bad all i'm saying is you dont need a hi-fi 14.2 surround system to enjoy retro games. A good pair of speakers maybe at best. I genuinely dont think most game developers were thinking about audiophiles when designing these games, aside from some a select few. Most were designing within the limits of the console, and that usually meant sacrificing audio for visual in most cases. But When I think of a good setup I think its more important to think of the visuals over the audio. I'd much rather see a person playing on a crt with minimal lag and mono than a person playing on a lcd with post processing and a banging audio setup. Its just a bit backwards if you ask me.

No need for a sound system for me, good old based and redpilled SEGA put a headphone jack right on the system itself so I can plug my sennheiser cans and get that bass-ey ym2612 in stereo.

Also most kids only had 9 to 14 inch TVs in their bedrooms anyway so they’d be sitting close to screen so no need for long cables. Sure there would be the 25 inch in the family room but dad always hogged it to watch sports and sis so she could watch MTV garbage.

I'm genuinely surpised at how few consoles have aux inputs, it's a neat feature to have. The only other none handheld console i can think of that has one is the wii-u and that almost 20 years later

>> No.5974774

>>5974770
9" wasn't common anywhere. People's secondary TVs for the kids' room would be in the 13-20" range. The only 9" CRT I've ever seen is this portable toshiba with a built-in DVD player that my parents bought for long car rides.

>> No.5974775

What I find even more surprising is that aux inputs on the controllers themselves wasn't more common. It just seems like a no-brainer to me.

I mean, most modern consoles like the xbone and ps4 have it, I think that it may have been far too costly for anything before gen 6.

I've seen a few 9 inch tvs, but most had antennas and no other input options. I remember them only really being used outside or in the kitchen, never really as a main tv.

192kHz, not Kbps.

kHz is the sample rate, which is useally 44.1kHz for CD audio. 192kHz is of course a retardedly high rate
